Before the tariff hike, Airtel’s base postpaid plan was Rs 399. But now it is a plan of Rs 449. This means that customers of the base plan will now have to pay Rs 50 more every month.
Like Jio, Bharti Airtel has also increased the tariff. The tariff hike has been implemented not only on prepaid plans but also on postpaid plans. This is the reason why now Airtel’s base postpaid plan has become slightly more expensive than before. Before the tariff hike, the base postpaid plan was Rs 399. But now it is a plan of Rs 449. That is, customers of the base plan will now have to pay Rs 50 more every month. However, this is not a very big increase, especially for postpaid users. However, it will definitely help in increasing the postpaid ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) figures for the company which has been falling for the last few quarters.
Let us tell you what you get in Airtel’s cheapest postpaid plan:
Airtel’s cheapest postpaid plan costs Rs 449. In this plan, customers get the benefit of unlimited voice calling, 40GB data with 200GB rollover, daily 100 SMS and Airtel Xstream Play for 3 months at no additional cost. Interestingly, there is no mention of 5G data offer on the postpaid page on the telco’s website. Apart from this, there is no mention of 5G offer in the terms and conditions as well.
However, since all prepaid customers who recharge with plans of 2GB daily data and above are getting unlimited 5G, we assume that Airtel postpaid users will also get it (regardless of the plan they choose). It is best to clear any confusion with Airtel customer care before buying a postpaid SIM from Airtel.
Note that there is an activation charge for postpaid plans. Depending on the region you are in, it will be Rs 250 or Rs 300. Do note that the above price is currently exclusive of taxes but 18% GST will be added to the final bill.
