Bengaluru Airport News: There is going to be a big relief during security check at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport. Such steps are being taken by the airport so that passengers will not have to take out electronic gadgets.
Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) is going to become the first airport in the country where personal electronic devices like mobile phones and laptops will not have to be removed and kept in the tray during security check. You can keep the entire bag in it. According to associate Times Now, it will start from Terminal-2. This will reduce the time taken for security check and the flying experience of the passengers will be better. The trial run of the Computer Tomography X-ray (CTX) machine at Terminal 2 will begin in the next few weeks. The new system will initially be for domestic passengers only. It is likely to become operational in December 2023.
Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Operating Officer, Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), said that the trial run of the CTX machine at T2 will start in the next few weeks. The CTX machine will be integrated with Automatic Tray Retrieval System (ATRS) and full-body scanner. Three full-body scanners have been installed on the T2. Full-body scanners are used to detect objects on or inside a person’s body. CTX is used for automatic detection of explosives in baggage.
Cushion missing from seat, passenger angry
An Indigo Airlines passenger alleged that there was no cushion on his seat in the flight. She also posted a picture of a seat without cushion on her social media, tagging Indigo Airlines. The company clarified on this saying that the airline staff had noticed the dirty seat, after which it was replaced. The incident is of Sunday. IndiGo spokesperson said they will inquire and respond. Following the incident, people on social media criticized the airline for its attitude and lack of service towards passengers.
