National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 for admission to ABBS and BDS programs in medical colleges across the country will not be held on August 1. While announcing the conduct of NEET 2021 on March 12, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had announced to release the online application form in two days. But due to the second wave of Corona, the application forms could not be issued. Now NTA is preparing for the new date for the conduct of NEET 2021.
According to sources, it is mandatory under the rules to announce the date of any national entrance examination 15 days before the commencement of the examination. NEET 2021 is already scheduled on August 1. But till now the online application form for NEET 2021 is not released. In such a situation, students will not have enough time to prepare for the exam from filling the application form. That is why now there is every possibility that the examination will not be held on August 1 on the scheduled time.
Earlier, on the request of the Union Health Ministry, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had made preparations for admission to all medical graduate programs from a single window in the academic session 2021-22. Due to the release of this single window medical online application form, the schedule for opening the online application window could not be made in mid-March. Actually, earlier there was a preparation to conduct computer based NEET 2021. After this it was decided that NEET 2021 will be conducted paper and PAN based as before.
