This decision has been taken after the meeting of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held at Raj Bhavan. Registrations for Amarnath Yatra will be started from 15th April. A plan has also been prepared as to how and in how many groups the passengers will be sent. This time Amarnath Yatra will start from 29th June and will continue till 19th August.

The official said the meeting was held in connection with the annual pilgrimage to the 3,880 meter high Amarnath temple. Preparations have been made for hassle free registration. Health certificates will also be issued to the passengers from authorized hospitals of Jammu and Kashmir for the journey.

10 thousand pilgrims will visit every day

The traditional route of Amarnath Yatra is Baltal and Pahalgam. A batch of around 10 thousand pilgrims will be sent from here every day. Amarnath pilgrims will be able to register themselves in more than 500 bank branches of the country. Last year, 32,819 service providers, including 15,903 ponywalas, 10,023 palanquin and dandiwalas and 6,893 pitthuwalas, were registered by the labor department for the Yatra.
