Amazon increased the pricing of its Prime membership and started asking users to pay Rs 1,499 for an annual subscription from Rs 999. The e-commerce platform has once again increased the price of the membership. However, this time around, the price hike is only applicable to monthly and 3-months subscription options. The annual subscription price remains unchanged.
Amazon Prime membership price hike: New pricing and more
Amazon India has increased the monthly subscription plan price by Rs 120 and it now costs Rs 299 compared to Rs 179. Similarly, the 3-months subscription plan now costs Rs 599 — Rs 140 more than before.
The good news is that the annual subscription price is still Rs 1,499 and it hasn’t changed.

Existing subscribers can continue at old rates
Both monthly and 3-month plans are auto-renewal plans and existing subscribers can continue to get the Prime membership at the old pricing till January 15, 2024. Do note that if the auto-renewal fails for some reason or you discontinue the subscription, you’ll have to buy the subscription at new prices.
