Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant Wedding: The much-awaited wedding of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s younger son Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant on July 12 is in the headlines these days. Many pre-wedding events have been held before this high profile wedding to be held in Mumbai. Meanwhile, the Ambani family organized a grand mass wedding for the underprivileged and poor people in Thane, Maharashtra on Tuesday (July 2) ahead of Anant-Radhika’s wedding. The Ambani family organized a mass wedding for more than 50 underprivileged couples from Palghar area, located about 100 km from Mumbai. The wedding ceremony was held at Reliance Corporate Park in Thane.
800 people including Ambani family attended
About 800 people representing the families of the couples attended the ceremony. Starting from this ceremony, the Ambani family pledged to continue supporting hundreds of such weddings across the country during the upcoming wedding season. Mukesh Ambani himself was also present at the ceremony along with his wife Nita. A card was also issued by the Ambani family regarding this. This mass wedding which was initially to be held at Swami Vivekananda Vidya Mandir in Palghar was later shifted to Thane.
The mass wedding, organised by the Ambani family as a noble gesture, took place on July 2, 2024 at 4:30 pm. The change in venue was done to ensure that the ceremony continues smoothly and without any disruption. The card stated that RIL chief Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani will also be attending the mass wedding event.
Ambani family blesses the couples
Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani attended the wedding ceremony along with their family members and extended their heartfelt wishes to the couples. As a gesture of goodwill, each couple was gifted gold jewellery including mangalsutra, wedding ring and nose ring. The brides also received silver jewellery like toe rings and anklets.
In addition, each bride was presented with a cheque of Rs 1.01 lakh (1 lakh 1 thousand rupees) as her ‘streedhan’. Each couple was also gifted enough grocery and household items for a year, including 36 types of essential items, utensils, electric items like gas stove, mixer and fan.
Wedding on July 12
Anant Ambani is set to marry Radhika Merchant in a grand ceremony in Mumbai on July 12, 2024. The wedding celebrations began with a private puja ceremony at Ambani’s home Antilia on June 29. The couple’s wedding celebrations were spectacular, reflecting the Ambani family’s reputation for grand and elaborate events. The pre-wedding celebrations began with a grand cruise party, which began in Italy on May 29 and ended in France on June 1. Earlier in March, a grand pre-wedding gala was organized in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which was attended by about 1,000 guests, including celebrities, sportspersons and industrialists. These events marked the beginning of a grand wedding celebration.
