Amrit Bharat Train: Railways is going to run 100 Amrit Bharat trains on busy routes this year. This will help more than 13 crore passengers reach their destination on time every year. Amrit Bharat trains will have only general and sleeper class coaches. Each train will have about 24 coaches. A senior Railway Board official said that Rs 2,52,000 crore has been allocated to the Railways in the General Budget 2025-26. The budget proposes to run 100 Amrit Bharat trains for the common rail passengers along with speeding up the infrastructure.

He said that the train will usually have 13-14 sleeper and about 10 general coaches. In this sense, about 3600 people will be able to travel in a train. With the running of 100 Amrit Bharat trains with 24 coaches, 3,60,000 passengers will be able to travel every day. That is, more than 13 crore passengers will be able to reach their destination annually.
The general public will benefit from the expansion of passenger capacity in the railways. Special arrangements have been made for the guard, luggage and disabled people in the SLR coach of Amrit Bharat train. These trains will also have pantry car, so that passengers can get fresh food.
Speed equal to Rajdhani, fare less
Equipped with pull-push technology, the saffron coloured Amrit Bharat train is capable of running at a speed of 130 km per hour. That is, the train of the general public will run at a high speed like mail-express trains like Rajdhani-Shatabdi, Vande Bharat. However, the fare will be less than Rajdhani-Shatabdi. The seats of the general class coaches in the trains are also fitted with mattresses.
Will operate between many states from Delhi
Amrit Bharat trains will run between Delhi-Bihar, Delhi-Orissa, Delhi-UP, West Bengal-Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra-UP, big and industrial cities of Bihar. These trains with general-sleeper will be run keeping in mind the workers, labourers, laborers.
