DA Hike: Less than 24 hours before the announcement of the Lok Sabha election schedule, Andhra Pradesh’s Jagan Mohan government on Friday night ordered the release of dearness allowance (DA) of employees. Special Chief Secretary (Finance) Shamsher Singh Rawat issued orders for release of DA to government employees for the period from July 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021.

Order to increase basic salary to 26.39 percent
Also, the Special Chief Secretary said that the government has issued an order to increase DA from 22.75 percent of the basic salary to 26.39 percent from July 1, 2022.
Apart from this, the Jagan government issued orders to increase the DA of government employees from 26.39 percent of the basic salary to 30.03 percent from January 1, 2023.
DA rates revised from 212 percent to 221 percent of basic pay
The Andhra Pradesh government issued orders revising the DA rates from 212 per cent to 221 per cent of the basic pay in respect of employees availing the revised UGC pay scale, 2006, with effect from January 1, 2023.
Order to revise DA rates basic pay
Similarly, the government has issued an order to revise the DA rates from 38 per cent to 42 per cent of the basic pay in respect of employees receiving the revised UGC pay scale, 2016, with effect from January 1, 2023.
Payment will be made in three equal installments
Let us tell you that the state government will pay DA in cash along with the salary for April-May. Whereas, DA dues for the period from January 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024 will be paid in three equal installments in the months of August-November, 2024 and February 2025.
