In the recruitment of Anganwadi workers, the High Court has summoned a counter-affidavit within 15 days, while sending a notice to the Child Development and Nutrition Department, for not reserving 10 percent posts for the poor of the general category. The department has issued advertisements for about 50 thousand vacancies but posts have not been reserved for EWS category.
After the news was published in the newspapers in the past, now the district officials have sent letters to the directorate seeking advice. Officials have written that the issue of not giving reservation to EWS is gaining momentum. Therefore, the department should clarify in writing what has to be done in the matter of reservation.
Meanwhile, some candidates have gone to the High Court and have demanded to cancel this advertisement and issue a new mandate. At the same time, its selection committee has been demanded to be constituted as per the guidelines of the Government of India. In this advertisement, vertical reservation has been given only to SC / ST / OBC, whereas it is mandatory to give 10 percent reservation to economically weaker candidates under the 103rd Constitutional Amendment.
