A plane caught fire while landing at the airport in Muan city of South Korea on Sunday. There were 181 people on board the plane. 85 passengers died in this accident. The emergency office said that rescue officials are trying to evacuate the passengers from the plane. Local TV stations broadcast footage of smoke coming out of the plane engulfed in flames. The crashed plane was reportedly a Boeing 737-800 of Jeju Air.

The report said that the Jeju Air plane, which had 175 passengers and 6 flight attendants on board, was returning from Thailand and crashed during landing. According to a report by Yonhap news agency, one person was found alive during the rescue operation. According to the information received, the landing gear had burst, which caused the fire.

The Jeju Air plane veered off the runway and collided with a fence, Yonhap news agency reported. The plane was returning from Bangkok. Earlier on Wednesday, an Embraer passenger jet crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, killing 38 people. The plane had taken off from a Russian territory that Moscow had recently defended from Ukrainian drone attacks.

Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 flew hundreds of miles off its scheduled route from Azerbaijan to Russia and crashed on the opposite coast of the Caspian Sea. Russia’s aviation watchdog said it was an emergency that may have been caused by a bird hit. But an aviation expert said this is unlikely.

Officials did not immediately say why the plane crossed the sea. But the accident comes after Ukrainian drone attacks this month in the Chechnya region of southern Russia. The nearest Russian airport on the plane’s flight path was closed on Wednesday morning.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that according to information he received, the plane changed its course due to bad weather. But the cause of the crash is unknown and must be investigated. He said it was a major tragedy that has become a great grief for the Azerbaijani people.
