In the year 2018, the Central Government had launched the Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY) for the unemployed workers of the organized sector. The deadline of this scheme was ending on June 30, but now the government has increased it to June 30, 2022. This means that the benefit of the scheme can now be taken for one more year. This information has been given by the Ministry of Labor and Employment in the House.

What is the scheme: This is the welfare scheme of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Under this, the government gives cash relief to the unemployed insured person for a maximum period of 90 days i.e. 3 months. This is a kind of unemployment allowance. 50 percent of the average earning of the employee is paid as cash relief.

Claim within 30 days: The claim is received within 30 days for job loss. The benefit of the scheme will also be available to those insured employees who have lost their jobs during the Corona period. However, those people who have been fired from the company due to bad conduct do not get the benefit of the scheme. Apart from this, employees who have filed a criminal case or who have taken VRS can also not take advantage of the scheme.

According to the information given by the Ministry of Labor and Employment in the House, till July 9, 2021, 55,125 people have made claims and a total amount of Rs 73.23 crore has been distributed to them.
