Who can open Atal Pension Scheme
Any person who has a savings account in any bank or post office can join the Atal Pension Scheme. To join this scheme, the minimum age should be 18 years and maximum age should be 40 years. This is a guaranteed pension scheme run by the government, under which the depositor gets a pension of 1,000 to 5,000 rupees. How much money will be received in the pension, it depends on the money deposited in the scheme. When the person reaches 60 years of age, then he starts getting this amount in the form of pension.
The minimum age to join the pension scheme has been kept at 18 years so that people start depositing money at an early age. This will increase the period of depositing money in APY. So will be entitled for more pension. If the account holder takes this scheme at an older age, then he will have to deposit more money. This means that if you want to take more benefit of Atal Pension Scheme, then you should deposit money from 18 years. The maximum age limit has also been kept at 40 years. When can you get the pension of 5,000
If you look at the chart of Atal Pension Yojana, a person who is 30 years old will have to deposit Rs 116 for a monthly pension of Rs 1,000. One has to invest in this only till the age of 40 years. From the age from which one joins this scheme, money has to be deposited every month till the age of 40 years. If the age of the depositor is 18 years, then he will get a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 if he deposits Rs 42 every month for 40 years. If he deposits Rs 84, he will get a pension of Rs 2,000. According to a PFRDA data, 78 percent of the depositors in the country are those who have taken a pension scheme of Rs 1,000. There are 14 percent people who have opted for a pension of Rs 5,000 per month. 44 percent of the beneficiaries of the scheme are women and 44 percent of the people who are young. These people are in the age group of 18-25 years. That is, good interest is being seen for the pension scheme in this youth also. SBI, Canara Bank, Airtel Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India and Punjab National Bank were among the top banks to have 1 lakh Atal Pension from 1 April-24 August 2021.
