Ayushman Card: There is good news for Ayushman card holders across the state. Currently 1.79 crore PMJAY card holders of the state are getting Rs. 5 lakh health insurance cover assistance of Rs. 10 lakh has been done. Today the office bearers of Bajaj Insurance Company paid a courtesy visit to Health Minister Rishikesh Patel at his office in Gandhinagar. In which Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Manoj Agarwal, Commissioner Shahmina Hussain, Director of NHM Dr. Remya Mohan and Dr. associated with Ayushman Yojana. Jain, Dr. Officials including Anand were also present.
After this greeting visit, Minister Rishikesh Patel formally issued an Ayushman Card of Rs. 10 lakh insurance assistance was launched. Rs. Minister Rishikesh Patel said that with health insurance support of 10 lakhs, transplants like heart, kidney, liver, uterus, as well as other complex surgeries including cochlear implant will be easily available under this card from now on.
The benefit of highly complex and expensive surgeries will be easily available to the families by increasing the amount of this insurance assistance. As a result of which the health wealth of Ayushman card holder families will increase. In the meeting with officials of Bajaj Company, health department officials, a detailed discussion was held on upcoming bank integration, strengthening of real-time data tracking, strengthening of anti-fraud agency operations, creation of new SOP for hospital management, preparation of FAQ (Frequently Ask Questions).
It may be mentioned here that under the Ayushman card, there are currently 2027 government and 803 private and 18 central government-run hospitals in the state, thus a total of 2848 hospitals. A total of 2471 different health related procedures and treatments will be availed under Ayushman card in all these empaneled hospitals.
The important thing here is that the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi started the 2012 Chief Minister Amrutam (MA) scheme in Gujarat and started providing health insurance assistance of Rs.2 lakh. Then in the year 2014, by expanding this scheme under Chief Minister Amritam Vatsalya (Ma-Vatsalya) insurance assistance to Rs. 3 lakhs was made.
When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, he started the PMJAY Ayushman card in the year 2018 to provide health insurance assistance of Rs.5 lakh across the country. Which was also adopted by the Gujarat government.
This health insurance assistance under the PMJAY-ma card scheme in the Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel-led government today is Rs. 10 lakhs.
