Bag Free Day: Good news for school students! One day in a month children will go to school without bags, government took a big decision

Bag Free Day News: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami took a commendable initiative and decided to make one day Bag Free Day in the school. Children will not carry child bags on one day of every month.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand government has decided to implement ‘Bag Free Day’ (bag free day) in schools for one day every month with the aim of reducing the burden of children’s bags. According to a government release issued here, under the scheme to be implemented in accordance with the National Education Policy-2020, there will be ‘Bag Free Day’ for a total of ten days in the year in schools and on this day children will be able to participate in activities of their interest.

Will be applicable from 6-12

The ‘Bag Free Day’ scheme will be implemented in upper primary and secondary schools from class 6th to 12th, for which the last Saturday of every month has been fixed. The implementation of the scheme will be the responsibility of the Chief Education Officer of the district. This scheme is already being run as ‘Talent Day’ in the government primary schools of the state, under which activities of language, mathematics, science, sports, art, handicraft, labour, exercise, social and cultural interest are conducted. .

To reduce the burden

The main objective of organizing 10 ‘Bag Free Days’ throughout the academic session is to reduce the burden of school bags among school children. The aim is to properly develop the talent of the students through various activities and to develop skills related to arts and crafts as well as to develop a sense of respect for labour.

Decision taken for all-round development of children- Education Minister

School Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the all-round development of the students studying in schools across the state, so that they can become proficient in the subjects of their interest along with studies.
