Bank Account Holder Alert: Transaction from ATM will stop if PAN card is not installed in bank account, how to get PAN card in bank

Permanent account number is a 10 digit code, commonly called PAN, which is used by individuals or companies to conduct economic transactions and also avail government rebates (subsidies). It is also mandatory to have PAN card for filing tax , thus with the help of PAN card, the Government of India is able to keep tax records of individuals and companies or organizations. The government has now made it mandatory for people to link their PAN card numbers to their bank accounts.




Ways to link PAN to your bank account

There are various ways to connect your PAN to your bank account. This can be done online either by going to the bank or by visiting the bank’s website.

Connecting via Internet Banking

If you have not linked your bank account to your PAN and do not have time to go to the bank, you can do it online comfortably from your home or office. You need to follow the following procedure:

Open your bank’s website and go to the Internet banking login page

Enter your user ID and password and login to your Internet banking account

From the range of options on the website, click on the ” Service Request ” option
Select the ” Update PAN Card ” option

Now enter your PAN, date of birth, which is registered on your PAN card and your register email ID with the bank

After rechecking the information you have entered, click on the ” Submit ” button

Your PAN will be linked to your bank account in a couple of days.

Even if you do not have any internet facility at home, PAN card can still be linked to a bank account. You will have to contact the bank’s customer service and follow the IVR:

Contact your bank’s toll-free customer service number. You can get this number from bank passbook, checkbook, pamphlet and other documents.

Proceed with IVR options and connect with PAN Card Customer Care Officer

Inform the officer that you want to add your PAN to your account

To verify your identity, you will be asked many questions such as your account number, address, debit card number, etc.

Tell your PAN number to the officer

Once registered, the bank will take the next two days to process your request and the bank will link your PAN to your bank account.

Link PAN card offline to bank account
For all those who are not familiar with internet banking or mobile banking, they can go to the bank to get their PAN linked to their bank account. You have to follow this simple method for this:

Go to your bank’s home branch where you have an account

Ask for a PAN Updation Form (KYC) and fill it out

Submit the following documents:

Pan Updation Form (KYC)
Self attested copy of your PAN card
A letter addressed to the Branch Manager regarding linking of PAN with your bank account
