Investments can be made in it from a few months to years. It also gives more interest than a normal savings account. Interest rates also keep getting revised.

Public sector Union Bank of India has also changed the interest rates of FDs less than Rs 3 crore with the beginning of the new year. The new rates have become effective. The bank is offering 3.50% to 7% interest on FDs from 7 days to 10 years. Senior citizens are getting 0.50% extra interest. At the same time, the bank is offering 0.75% extra interest to super senior citizens.

Highest returns are being received on FDs of this duration

The highest returns are being received on FDs of 456 days duration. The interest rate for general citizens is 7.30%, for senior citizens it is 7.80% and for super senior citizens it is 8.5%. Apart from this, the bank is also giving attractive interest on FDs of 399 days duration. The interest rate for general citizens is 7%. Customers are getting 6.35% interest on FDs of 333 days duration.

91 to 120 days – 4.80%

334 days to less than 1 year – 6.35%
1 year – 6.80%
More than 1 year and up to 398 days – 6.80%
399 days – 7%
400 days to 455 days – 6.60%
456 days – 7.30%
457 days to 2 years – 6.60%
More than 2 years and upto 996 days – 6.60%
997 days – 6.40%
998 days to 3 years – 6.60%
3 years – 6.60%
More than 3 years and upto 5 years – 6.50%
More than 5 years to 10 years – 6.50%
