Bank Holiday: All banks will remain closed till April 1, Check RBI’s list of holidays

Bank Holiday List April 2025: Government and private banks are closed across the country today on the occasion of Eid and will remain closed on April 1 for Annual Bank Account Closing Day. Today, schools, colleges and stock markets will also remain closed on the occasion of Eid.

Bank Holiday List April 2025: Government and private banks are closed across the country today on the occasion of Eid and will remain closed tomorrow i.e. on April 1 for Annual Bank Account Closing Day. Bank holidays in different states of India may vary due to local festivals and religious celebrations. These holidays are in addition to the general national and gazetted holidays. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) releases its annual, official bank holidays in January. You are advised to check their confirmed holidays for 2025 from your nearest local bank branch. Today schools-colleges and stock markets will also remain closed on the occasion of Eid.

March 31, Monday: Banks will remain closed in most states except Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Ramzan Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr).

April 1, Tuesday, Banks’ Annual Bank Account Closing Day/Sarhul: All banks across India will remain closed for final annual account closing. Banks in Jharkhand will also remain closed for Sarhul, which is a tribal festival and marks the beginning of the new year.

April 5, Saturday: Banks in Telangana will remain closed for Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birth anniversary.

April 6, Sunday: Weekly holiday for all banks across India.

April 10, Thursday: Banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Telangana will remain closed for Lord Mahavir’s birth anniversary.

April 12, Saturday: Second Saturday weekly holiday for all banks across India.

April 13, Sunday: Weekly holiday for all banks across India.

April 14, Monday: Banks in several states will remain closed for Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, including Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh. The day also marks various regional New Year celebrations such as Vishu, Bihu, Tamil New Year, etc.

April 15, Tuesday: Banks in Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed for state-specific festivals such as Bengali New Year, Himachal Day and Bohag Bihu.

April 18, Friday: Banks in states including Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar will remain closed for Good Friday, which commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

April 20, Sunday: Weekly holiday for all banks in India.

April 21, Monday: Banks in Tripura will remain closed for Garia Puja, a tribal festival celebrated in the state.

April 26, Saturday: Fourth Saturday weekly holiday for all banks in India.

April 27, Sunday: Weekly holiday for all banks.

April 29, Tuesday: Banks in Himachal Pradesh will remain closed for Bhagwan Sri Parshuram Jayanti, which is the birth anniversary of Parshuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

April 30, Wednesday: Banks in Karnataka will be closed for Basava Jayanti, which honours Basavanna, the founder of the Lingayat sect, and Akshaya Tritiya, which is considered an auspicious day for wealth and prosperity.

ATMs, mobile banking, online banking will continue

You can use ATMs, mobile banking, online banking and bank apps for everyday transactions even during the holidays, unless the bank sends an important notification regarding special maintenance timings or technical issues.
