Banks will remain closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025

Banks will remain closed in most states of the country on the occasion of New Year on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Although the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has not released the official holiday calendar for 2025, the holiday on January 1, 2025 is not a gazetted holiday. This is a registered holiday. That is, banks are not going to be closed across the country. Banks are expected to be closed in most states on January 1, 2025. This is decided as per the RBI holiday list of 2024, which includes Aizawl, Chennai, Gangtok, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Kolkata. Therefore, it is not certain that banks will remain closed in all the states.
