According to the official bank holiday list of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed on November 7 and 8 in these states, so customers should settle their banking work in advance.
Will banks remain closed on Chhath Puja?
Yes, according to RBI, banks in these states will not function on November 7 and 8 due to Chhath Puja holiday. Apart from this, banks are also closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, due to which banks will not open on November 9 this time as well. In this way, there will be no work in banks from November 7 to November 10.
Importance of Chhath Puja
Chhath Puja is a four-day festival of worship of the Sun God, in which devotees offer water to the rising and setting sun. Special rituals such as fasting, holy bath and meditation while standing in water are followed.
