All banks in Meghalaya will remain closed on Friday, December 27. This holiday has been given due to Christmas celebrations in the state. Christmas is one of the major festivals of Meghalaya and it is celebrated with great pomp across the state. During this time people are busy praying in church, participating in cultural programs and spending time with family.

For banking services related work, customers have been advised to use online banking services. Due to the holiday, cash withdrawal, check clearance and other banking work can be done only on the next working day. People living in Meghalaya will be immersed in the joy of Christmas on this occasion and the impact of bank closure will be less visible on local life.
