Banks will remain closed in Mumbai

The date of Eid-e-Milad holiday in Mumbai has been changed. Earlier this holiday was on Monday 16 September which was changed to Wednesday 18 September 2024. The Maharashtra government has made this change on the request of local leaders of the Muslim community. Congress leader Naseem Khan had requested Chief Minister Eknath Shinde that Anant Chaturdashi is on September 17, so the Muslim community decided to take out Eid-e-Milad procession on September 18 so that both the festivals can be celebrated with pomp. Bank holiday has also been kept on September 18 in Mumbai for this reason.
