After this, under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, bank employees will also get holidays on the occasion of Rakshabandhan on 19 August and Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 26 August.

Bank Holiday 2024: There is good news for the bank employees working in Madhya Pradesh. Bank employees of MP will also get leave on 19 August and 26 August this year. Actually, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has approved two new holidays for bank employees in the state. Officers working in the banking sector and under the “Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881” will get these holidays.

Bank employees have been demanding leave for a long time

It is worth noting that this demand was being raised for a long time. Like other employees, bank officials and employees had also demanded leave to celebrate the festival on the occasion of Rakshabandhan and Shri Krishna Janmashtami, on which the Madhya Pradesh government has now taken a decision. Under this, the Chief Minister has announced that on the festival of Rakshabandhan and Janmashtami, bank employees will also get holidays like other employees and officers.

Important news for common people too

Banks will remain closed on 19th August and 26th August in Madhya Pradesh, because Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a holiday for bank employees on these two dates on the demand of bank employees. In such a situation, the common people of Madhya Pradesh will have to take care to avoid going to the bank on these two days, because due to the holiday of bank employees on these two days, no bank related work will be done.

According to the information given on the official website of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there will be a total of 13 bank holidays in the month of August (Bank Holidays 2024). These include weekly holidays on Sunday and holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. During this time, there will be no work in both government and private sector banks (August 2024 bank holidays).

These are the weekly holidays of banks in August 2024:

  • Banks will remain closed across the country on August 4 due to Sunday.
  • Banks will remain closed across the country on August 10 due to the second Saturday of the month.
  • Banks will remain closed across the country on August 11 due to Sunday.
  • Banks will remain closed across the country on August 18 due to Sunday.
  • Banks will remain closed across the country on August 25 due to Sunday.
  • August 31, 2024: Banks will remain closed across the country due to the fourth Saturday of the month.

Apart from this, banks will also remain closed on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day (Independence Day 2024), on August 19 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan (Raksha Bandhan 2024) and on August 26 on the occasion of Janmashtami (Janmashtami 2024). So let’s know about it…

3 August 2024: Banks will remain closed in Agartala on the occasion of Ker Puja.

8 August 2024: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Tendong Lo Room Fat.

13 August 2024: Banks will remain closed in Manipur on the occasion of Patriot Day.

15 August 2024: All banks across the country will remain closed on the occasion of Independence Day.

19 August 2024: Banks will remain closed in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

20 August 2024: Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti.

26 August 2024: Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar on the occasion of Janmashtami or Krishna Janmashtami.
