Bank Holiday In March: Banks will remain closed for 13 days in March, check bank holiday list

Bank Holiday 2025: RBI has released the list of March bank holidays. There is also a notification with it. There will be no bank holiday on March 31, the day of Eid. It is bank closing day. Bank Holiday 2025: Even though the Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the holiday on Eid i.e. on March 31 due to bank closing, you should still plan for bank related work in March. There is a reason for this. Banks are going to remain closed for 13 days in the month of March. There is no dearth of festivals in the month of March. A big festival like Holi will also be coming in this month. There are many occasions like Bihar Day, Shab-e-Qadr, Jamaat ul Vida, when banks will remain closed in different states of the country. Apart from this, banks will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays. This time there are also 5 Sundays. In such a situation, if you have to get any work related to banks done before the date of bank closing, then make a plan from now itself. List of bank holidays in the month of March

  1. March 2, Sunday: Sunday Holiday: All banks in the country will remain closed on this day.
  2. March 7, Friday: Chapchar Kut Festival: Banks in Aizawl will remain closed on this day.
  3. March 8, Friday: Chapchar Kut Festival: Banks in Aizawl will remain closed on this day.
  4. March 9, Saturday: Second Saturday: All banks in the country will remain closed on this day.
  5. March 13, Thursday: Holika Dahan: Banks in Dehradun, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ranchi and Tiruvangapuram will remain closed.
  6. March 14, Friday: Rangwali Hogi: Banks will remain closed all over the country.
  7. March 15, Saturday: Yaoseng Day: Banks in Agartala, Bhubaneshwar, Imphal, Patna will remain closed on this day.
  8. March 16, Sunday: Sunday Holiday: All banks in the country will remain closed on this day.
  9. 22 March, Saturday: Fourth Saturday and Bihar Day: This day is fourth Saturday and there will be a holiday in the whole country. But due to Bihar Day, there will be a special holiday for banks in Bihar.
  10. 23 March, Sunday: Sunday Holiday: All the banks in the country will remain closed on this day.
  11. 27 March, Thursday: Shab-e-Qadr: Banks in Jammu and Srinagar will remain closed on this day.
  12. 28 March, Friday: Jamaat-ul-Vida: Banks in Jammu and Srinagar will remain closed on this day.
  13. 30 March, Sunday: Sunday Holiday: All the banks in the country will remain closed on this day.

Holiday on 31st March cancelled

RBI holiday calendar still mentions holiday on 31st March i.e. Eid, but about a week ago RBI issued a new notification saying that 31st March is a bank closing day. Hence there will be no holiday for banks. All the banks in the country will remain open. However, on Eid, banks are closed in all the states except Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh.
