Bank Holidays Announced: Banks will remain closed for so many days in July, check list according to your city

Bank holidays in July 2023: There are eight holidays in the month of July, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. Which will start from 5th July on the birthday of Guru Hargobind ji and will end on 29th July with the holiday of Muharram. These holidays will apply to all banks in India except some states.

Banks across the country will remain closed for about 15 days in July 2023, including the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. Both private and public sector banks remain open on the first and third Saturday of every month. As per RBI guidelines, banks will remain closed on all public holidays and some regional holidays are state-specific. However, regional holidays are decided by the respective state governments. Also, the banking regulator has made it mandatory for banks to remain closed on Sundays.

There will be a total of 15 holidays in July

There are eight holidays in the month of July, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. Which will start from 5th July on the birthday of Guru Hargobind ji and will end on 29th July with the holiday of Muharram. These holidays will apply to all banks in India except some states. On the other hand, 7 holidays are associated with Saturday and Sunday. There will be 5 Sundays in the month of July and two Saturdays are going to be holidays. There are total 15 holidays in the month of July. If someone has very important work in the bank, then his time will have to be made according to the holidays of the banks. However, ATMs, cash deposits, online banking and mobile banking will continue to function as usual.

2000 rupee notes are being deposited

On the other hand, deposits of Rs 2000 notes are being made in all the banks of the country. In the month of May, RBI had ordered the withdrawal of Rs 2000 notes. The people of the country were told to deposit these 2000 rupee notes by the end of September. On which continuous work is going on. In such a situation, if someone gets Rs 2000 notes in July and needs to deposit them in banks, then such people will have to adjust according to the bank holiday.

  • 29 July 2023: Muharram (in almost all states)
  • 30 July 2023: Sunday
  • 31 July 2023: Martyrdom Day (Haryana and Punjab)
