Bank Holidays in September 2024 in India: There are many days in India throughout the year when banks are closed. Apart from the regular Sunday and the fourth Saturday of the month, there are many government holidays when banks do not open. According to the list of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks remain closed on national holidays, state holidays or any important emergency necessary holiday.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has the authority to determine all bank holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays. Apart from this, RBI can decide on which day public and private banks will remain closed and on which day they will open across the country.
RBI has recently released the list of bank holidays for September 2024. According to this, there are a total of 15 non-working days in September, that is, there will be no work in banks on these days. These holidays include holidays declared by regional and different governments in the state. Apart from this, holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of the month are also included in these.
According to the RBI list, there will be no work in banks on these non-working days, that is, no physical financial services will be available. However, due to digital banking technology, it has now become easier for people to do bank related work even on holidays.
This is the reason that due to internet banking and digital banking, people can easily complete their necessary payments and services.
