Bank Holidays: Banks will remain closed for half a month in January, check the complete list of holidays

Bank Holidays January 2025- Bank employees will get many holidays in the first month of the new year. Bank’s online services and ATMs will remain operational even on holidays.

Bank Holidays January 2025: New Year is just about to come. Everyone is busy preparing for the New Year. If you plan to go to the bank to settle any important work in the first month of the year 2025 i.e. January, then definitely check the list of holidays. This is because in January 2025, apart from weekly holidays, banks will not work for 15 days due to national and regional holidays. Banks remain closed every Sunday and second and fourth Saturday of the month. Apart from this, banks are also closed on festivals and some special days.

The list of bank holidays is released by the Reserve Bank of India. It includes both national and regional holidays. All banks remain closed across the country on national holidays. Regional holidays are related to a particular state or region. On these days only the banks of the concerned state or region remain closed. It is worth noting here that in January 2025, banks will not remain closed for 15 days across the country. Banks across the country will remain closed only on national and weekly holidays. On regional holidays, banks will remain closed only in the respective state.

Bank Holidays List for January, 2025

  • 1 January 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on Wednesday on New Year’s Day.
  • 6 January 2025: Banks will remain closed in some states including Punjab on Monday on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti.
  • 11 January 2025: Second Saturday, banks will remain closed across the country.
  • 12 January 2025: Weekly holiday on Sunday.
  • 13 January 2025: Banks will remain closed in Punjab and some other states on Monday due to Lohri festival.
  • 14 January 2025: Banks will remain closed in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday due to Sankranti and Pongal.
  • 15 January 2025: Banks will remain closed in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday on the occasion of Tiruvalluvar Day, West Bengal and Assam due to Tusu Puja.
  • 23 January 2025: Banks will remain closed in many states on Thursday on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti.
  • 25 January 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on Saturday due to weekly holiday.
  • 26 January 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on Sunday on the occasion of Republic Day.
  • 30 January 2025: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on Thursday due to Sonam Losar.
