The bench said, ‘Therefore, the locker provided by banks has become an essential service. Foreign citizens can be taken along with such service citizens. The court said that although there is an option of an electronically operated locker, but those who make a mess in it can make a dent. Also, if people are not technically knowledgeable then it is also difficult for them to operate such a locker.
The bench said that customers are completely dependent on the bank, which protects their assets. In such a situation, banks cannot turn their backs on this matter and claim that they have no bus at the locker. This kind of action by banks is not only a violation of the relevant provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, but also damages the confidence of investors and our credibility as an emerging economy.
