Banks will be working only 4 to 4 hours in Covid zone, these facilities will be available

The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) has been requested to limit the services and reduce the transaction work by visiting people branches for about three hours till the situation improves.

Amid increasing cases of COVID infections in the country (COVID-19 Cases), bank unions limit the services to the bank employees and come to the branches to protect the bank employees from infection until the situation improves with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). It has been requested to reduce the work of the loan to about three hours.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), the apex forum of nine trade unions, has said in a letter to IBA chairman Raj Kiran Rai ji that customers continue to visit branches. Customers are coming for all types of services. There is a risk of spreading the infection.

Impact on bank employees

The UFBU said, “We are distressed by the continuous information of bank employees, their recruitment in hospitals and the information of death.” The union said that in view of this drastic situation, there is an appeal from the bank employees that it should be looked into immediately and a decision should be taken.

3-4 hours reduced working hours

Till the situation is corrected, the bank unions have demanded to limit the bank services to only essential tasks and reduce the working hours to 3-4 hours.

The UFBU has also demanded the provision of clustered banking (cluster or hub). Under this, some branches of every bank should be identified in each area so that the bank employee can work in turn and avoid infection.

Last week too, UFBU wrote a letter to Debashish Panda, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, about a similar request.

Banks will open four hours from today

Banking will be done in Uttar Pradesh from 10 am to 2 pm from today till 15 May. Bank branches will be closed at four o’clock. There will be work in banks with 50 per cent staff. Customers in banks will be provided only the minimum essential banking services such as cash deposits, withdrawals, check clearing and government transactions.

Explain that in the first phase of lockdown last year, SBI banned services like account opening, cash withdrawal, passbook printing and currency exchange.
