Beer & Liquor Price Hike:The Karnataka government has proposed to increase the additional excise duty on beer and liquor in the budget. In such a situation, those who spill jam will have to loosen their extra pockets.
Beer & Liquor Price Hike: Wine and beer lovers will now have to loosen their pockets to spill jam. Actually, the state government has increased the additional excise duty hike on beer and liquor. Due to this, the prices of liquor and beer bottles will increase. It is estimated that there may be an increase in the price of Rs 15 to 25 per bottle.
Presenting the budget 2023, the Karnataka government has proposed to increase the additional excise duty by 20% on all 18 slabs in the case of beer liquor. He said that the Karnataka government will increase the additional excise duty on beer from 175% to 185%. The CM said that the government will increase the existing rates of additional excise duty on Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) to 20% on all 18 slabs.
Regarding the increase in the price of liquor and beer after the decision to increase the additional excise duty on Indian-made foreign liquor, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that even after the increase in excise rates, the price of liquor in our state will be lower than that of the neighboring states.
Earlier in the year 2019, additional excise duty on beer was increased from 150% to 175%, while additional excise duty on draft beer was increased from 115% to 150%. Then the additional excise duty was increased from Rs 12.5 per bottle to Rs 25. In such a situation, this time even after the increase in excise duty, an increase of Rs 15 to 25 per bottle is expected.
Karnataka’s 3.28 lakh crore budget presented
The Karnataka government has presented a budget of 3.28 lakh crores on Friday. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has allocated the maximum Rs 37,587 crore for education. Whereas, Rs 24,166 crore has been allocated for women and child development and Rs 14,950 crore for health and family welfare.
