UP News: The Mahapanchayat of Bharatiya Kisan Union running at Jagahedi toll of Muzaffarnagar has ended. After assurance from the officials, the farmers ended their protest. Rakesh Tikait has attacked the government.

Muzaffarnagar News: Under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait, Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, the Mahapanchayat was concluded by submitting a memorandum in the name of the Chief Minister to the ADM administration regarding various demands of the farmers. Rakesh Tikait cornered the government and said that the government is working to weaken the farmers. In the Mahapanchayat, voices were raised regarding farmer friendly issues like sugarcane price, free electricity etc.

In the Mahapanchayat of BKU going on at Jagahedi Toll in Muzaffarnagar, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait lashed out at the government regarding the issues of farmers. He said that the government people will snatch the land. He said that we will hold a tractor march on January 26. Bharat Bandh has been announced on 16 February on the call of United Kisan Morcha (SKM). Therefore, farmers will also be a part of Bharat Bandh on that day. There is also a call from farmers to close their farms.

Farmers have to pay electricity bills

After this, a memorandum was submitted to the ADM administration in the name of the Chief Minister regarding several demands. It has been demanded in the memorandum that for a long time, farmers have been protesting against the construction of bridge or underpass on Pinna Highway, which should be resolved immediately. Sugarcane price less than Rs 450 per quintal is not accepted. Despite the announcement of free electricity, farmers have to pay bills and spend a lot on new connections. There should be a provision for discounts to farmers on diesel, equipment, fertilizers and seeds.

The strike ended after assurance

Competent officers of farmers including District Magistrate, SSP should be present in the monthly Farmer’s Day. Stray animals are destroying farmers’ crops, there should be a solution to this problem. By cleaning the Nehru drains and making arrangements for drains etc. till the fields, the farmers should get the benefit of irrigation. The problems of farmers related to highways should be solved. After the assurance of the officials, the protest has also been ended with the conclusion of the Mahapanchayat.
