Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that keeping in view the increase in the speed of vehicles running on good highways and on them, efforts will have to be made to make the tires of vehicles as per international standards.
Tire requirement as per international standard
He said that to reduce the incidents of tire bursts, the government will prepare new rules after talking to the tire manufacturers. Talking to the media, Gadkari said, ‘I had called a meeting of tire manufacturers and they asked me for some time. We need tires according to international standards. Based on that, new rules will be prepared so that no accident happens due to bursting of tyre. Now 32 such highways are being built which will increase the speed of vehicles. In such a situation, naturally we will look at the quality of the tyre.
Will invite PM Modi to inaugurate them
Gadkari also reviewed the progress of Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway. He said that work on six-lane economic corridors in Rajasthan would be completed by October 2023. In Rajasthan, 93 percent i.e. 550 km of 637 kilometer six-lane economic corridor has been completed at a cost of 15 thousand crores. We will soon request PM Modi and invite him to inaugurate the Rajasthan portion.
Earlier, Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of six National Highway projects at Pakka Sarna (Hanumangarh) at a cost of Rs 2050 crore and seven Railway Overbridges (ROBs) under the Setubandhan scheme.
