At present, 702 km of traditional metro are running on the track in the country and 1016 km of metro RRTS are being made in 27 cities. The Finance Minister announced that work on two new technological metrolites and metronos will also be done. Through this, help in running the metro trains in tier two and tier one cities safely.

- Kochi Metro Rail Phase-2, the length of which will be 11.5 km and the cost will be Rs 1957.05 crore.
- -Chennai Metro Railway Phase-2, which will have a length of 118.9 km and cost Rs 63,246 crore.
- -Bengaluru Metro Railway Project Phase-2 and 2B, the length of which will be 58.19 km and the cost will be Rs 14,788 crore.
- -Nagpur Metro Rail Project Face Two and Nashik Metro, which will cost Rs 5,976 crore and Rs 2000 crore respectively.

The Finance Minister has made several big announcements for the Indian Railways. In Budget 2021, the Finance Minister has made a provision of Rs 1,10,055 crore for the Railways. The Finance Minister also announced the National Rail Scheme 2030. In this plan, India’s future rail plan has been prepared. The Finance Minister said that several measures are being taken to reduce rail freight. The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Eastern Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor will be implemented by June 2022.
Emphasis on freight
The Finance Minister said that the government is also working on the Future Dedicated Freight Corridor. It is being constructed under the name of East Coast Freight Corridor. This corridor is being prepared from Kharagpur in West Bengal to Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Its length is 1,100 kilometers. The 274-km Gomo-Dankuni section will also be started soon.

The 46,000 broad gauge route will be converted into an electric line by the end of this year. 100 per cent electrification of the Broad Gauge Route will be completed by December 2023. Many provisions have also been made for the convenience and safety of passengers. A provision of Rs 1,10,055 crore has been made for Indian Railways. Of this, a provision of Rs 1,07,100 crore has been made for capital expenditure.
