Nifty Bank F&O contracts to expire on Fridays: National Stock Exchange (NSE), the country’s leading stock market, has made a big announcement on Tuesday. NSE issued a circular that the futures and options contract cycle of Bank Nifty has been changed.
Bank Nifty Expiry Day: National Stock Exchange (NSE), the leading stock exchange of the country, has made a big announcement on Tuesday. NSE issued a circular that the contract cycle of Bank Nifty futures and options has been changed and the exchange has changed the expiry day for Bank Nifty futures and options from Thursday to Friday. This means that Bank Nifty futures and option deals will now expire on Friday. This change will come into effect from Friday 7 July 2023. NSE said in a circular that all existing contracts expiring on Thursday will be revised on Friday July 6, 2023.
Weekly Contracts
Currently weekly contracts expire on Thursday of every week except for expiry of monthly contracts. Weekly contracts will expire every Friday after the new change. If Friday is a business holiday, the expiry day will be Thursday.
Monthly and Quarterly Contracts
Currently the expiry day for monthly and quarterly contracts is the last Thursday of the month. After the new change all monthly contracts will expire on the last Friday of the respective month. If Friday is a business holiday then the expiry day will be the previous business day i.e. Thursday.
