Big News For You! One Nation One Ration Card Scheme: 69 crore people from 32 states are availing this scheme, you can also apply from home

One Nation One Ration Card Scheme: This scheme was started by the Central Government in Corona Lockdown. During this period, the poor and migrant laborers were greatly benefited from this scheme.




Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in his budget speech (Budget 2021), drew attention of the entire house and country to the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme. He described the benefits of this scheme as welfare and convenient for the countrymen. The Finance Minister said that this scheme is being implemented in 32 states of the country.

Nirmala Sitharaman said in her speech that the government is trying to implement the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme that it will be implemented very soon in the remaining states in the coming days. The government claims that this scheme will provide relief to every citizen of the country.

Ration can be lifted anywhere in the country

The biggest feature of this scheme is that through this, beneficiaries can take ration through the ration card anywhere in the country. The Finance Minister said that the number of beneficiaries of this scheme has reached 69 crores, which includes mostly migrant workers and people living away from their families. Such people will be able to claim their rations at both places.

Under this scheme, citizens of any area can get ration from any public distribution system shop in any state of the country through ration card. They will be able to get their share ration from any state PDS shop.

Objective is to add 100 percent beneficiaries by March

The scheme was initiated by the Central Government in the lockdown imposed due to Corona epidemic. During this period, the poor and migrant laborers were greatly benefited from this scheme. According to reports, 83 per cent beneficiaries of PDS scheme will be linked to it. By March 2021, the objective is to add 100 percent beneficiaries to it.

Have you not made a ration card yet?

If you do not yet have a ration card, you can now apply online from home (apply online for ration card). For this, different websites have been started by all the states. You can apply by visiting the website of whichever state you are originally from. But there are some conditions of eligibility for this scheme.

Who can apply?

1.  It is mandatory to be a citizen of India. Also, the age should be more than 18 years.

2.  The name of a person under 18 years of age is included in their parents’ card.

3. The  applicant should not have ration card of any other state.

4.  Family income should be within the limit prescribed for the poverty line.

5. No   family member should have a name in any ration card before that.

6. The name of the  applicant’s life partner, their children and close members can be recorded on the card.

How to apply for ration card

1.  You must first visit the official website of the Food and Consumer Department of your respective state.

2.  Aadhar card, Voter ID, passport, driving license, etc. can be given as ID proof.

3.   After the application is submitted with the prescribed fee, it is sent for field verification.

4.  The official confirms the information given in the form. Usually the investigation is completed within 30 days.

5. The ration card is issued within the next 30 days after the application is found to be correct in the investigation.

If you want, you can also apply for ration card in the Common Service Center. From Tehsil to Sub-divisional level, there is a designated counter, where you can apply.
