big news! Income tax department is going to make big changes from June 7, know where to fill income tax returns now

New Delhi: There is big news for those who file Income Tax Return. From 7 June 2021, the Income Tax Department (IT Department) is going to make a big change. If you also pay tax, then know this thing before that. Please tell ITR department has decided to change its official website. From 1 June 2021, you will not be able to login to the existing website. A new official portal has been created by the department, on which you can tackle your tax related work.

The ITR department said that due to migration, taxpayers will not be able to login on the existing website incometaxindiaefilling.gov.in from 1 June 2021. Let me tell you that for a new website you can visit INCOMETAX.GOV.IN. The department has said that from June 7 onwards, all taxpayers should do their work on this website.

The old website will not work from June 1,

it has been told about this by issuing official notifications from the department. The department has written in it that the old website will be closed from June 1. So all people should use the new website, so that they do not have any kind of trouble.

ITR can be filled by 31 May

Let us tell you that the department has recently extended the deadline for filing Income Tax Return (ITR) for assessment year 2020-21. Now taxpayers can file their returns till 31 May 2021. This information has been given in the new circular issued by CBDT. Those who have not filed income tax returns for the last financial year, they can now fill it by May 31.

How to file revised ITR


The taxpayer will have to go to the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and choose the option of filing the revised return to file the revised ITR. The number of filing the revised tax return is not fixed but the revised return cannot be filed after scrutiny assessment of the return.
