According to a report shared online, the railways will get around 1.04 lakh reserve passengers this festive season. But considering the festival crowd, this number may increase further. But the number of unreserved passengers in these special trains can be equally high.

Western Railway will handle a total of 55 Ganpati Special trains, while Central Railway will operate 257 trains. Most of these trains will operate from various cities in Maharashtra and will provide connectivity to Mumbai. According to a railway statement, “To meet the transport needs of the devotees, in a special effort, a total of 312 Ganpati Special train services are planned for this year. This is an increase of 18 more services compared to the 294 services provided in 2022.”
In 2022, Indian Railways operated a total of 294 Ganpati Special trains to handle the rush of the festive season. In comparison, the Indian transporter added 18 more trains this year, and will operate a total of 312 trains for the expected increase in passenger numbers.
