6th Cpc, New Pay Commission: There is big news for the employees. Actually the ministry has given a big relief. They can get the benefit of new pay commission. For this, they have been given 3 months to choose the option. He can exercise the option for the same within 3 months from the date of issue of the order. However, this time will be the last time to exercise the option. After this no amendment will be made in the rule.

Matter relating to revision of option to switch to 6th CPC by Section Officer (A/CS/AAO) of DAD consequent to grant of entry pay at par with Direct Recruit AAO(SAS) to Promoter Section Officer (A/CSY AAO Apprentice) Finance The matter was under consideration of the Ministry, Department of Expenditure/Ministry of Defense (Finance).
In this regard, it is informed that the proposal has been agreed to by the Ministry. The Finance Department, Department of Expenditure vide its [ID No. 03-05/2019-E.III(A) dated 19.07.2023 took the following decision:-
- The matter has been investigated. In this regard it is stated that grant of Entry Pay to AAOs promoted equivalent to DR AAOs of Defense Accounts Cadre vide ID dated 14.05.2018 and a general order/OM issued by this Department vide OM dated 28.09.2018 Have to do too. An unforeseen development/change in rules which has affected the earlier option of transition to 6th CPC pay structure of these officers, leaving them at a disadvantageous position.
- MoD’s proposal for revision of option to appear in 6th CPC is agreed to grant entry pay at par with direct recruit AAOs (SAS Apprentices) to Section Officers (A/C)/AAOs of CGDA. however. For re-exercise of option under FR-22(1)(a)(1), if any, DoP&T is advised to be consulted.
- Ministry of Defense is advised to process the matter strictly as per CCS(RP) Rules 2008 and this Department’s OM dated 28.09.2018. Further it is stated that, this revision of option to come over to the 6th CPC pay structure, once exercised, shall be final and no further revision of such option shall be permitted.”
Must exercise your option within 3 months
Re-fixation of pay of DAD affected SO(A/CS)/AAOs in 6th CPC pay structure as per their revised option may please be done strictly as per above decision. As decided by the Ministry, once exercised to arrive at the 6″ CPC pay structure, this revision of option shall be final and no further revision of such option shall be permitted.
The person/officer will have to exercise his option within 3 months from the date of issue of this letter. After which the request for modification of option will not be entertained.
