NEET, JEE Main 2021: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made a major change in NEET and JEE Main 2021 this year, removing the provision of giving preference to older candidates in the rank list of JEE Main 2021 and NEET UG 2021. .
NEET, JEE Main 2021: This is big news for the aspirants of NEET and JEE Main. National Testing Agency, NTA has changed the rules and removed the provision of giving preference to older candidates in the rank list of both the examinations. Actually, earlier, in the rank list of NEET and JEE Main, those students who were older were given the first chance. Think of it like this that if two students have got 720 marks, then the priority among them will be given to the candidate whose age is more.
This rule was effective till the year 2020, but from the year 2021 this rule has been removed. To prepare the rank list for JEE Main and NEET 2021, NTA uses a tie-breaking policy so that no two candidates are given the same rank.
In the year 2020, in the tie-breaking policy adopted for JEE Main engineering paper, candidates with higher scores in Mathematics were given preference. After that Physics and Chemistry. If the tie still persists, then the candidates with less negative responses will be given preference. After this, candidates older in age will be given preference. Similar methods were used for the BArch and BPlanning papers as well.
But this year this tie-breaking policy has been removed from JEE Main and NEET exams.
