Big news! Toll plazas will not be taxed, free of cost, trains will be able to travel for more than 100 meters

NHAI said, if the queue of vehicles on the toll is more than 100 meters for some reason, then in that case all the vehicles will be allowed to be given without toll.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has issued new guidelines for toll plazas to reduce the waiting time of vehicles at toll tolls across the country. NHAI has said that every vehicle should be serviced in 10 seconds. This deadline should be adopted even in the peak time of the pressure of vehicles on the highway so that vehicles have to wait for a minimum time in the queue.

NHAI said in a statement that the new instructions will also ensure smooth flow of traffic for vehicles not having more than 100 meters of queues at the toll plaza.

Permission to be given without toll
He said, however, after the FASTag has been made compulsory, at most toll plazas, there is no waiting time at all. If for some reason the queue of vehicles on the toll is more than 100 meters, then in that case all the vehicles will be allowed to be given without toll until the queue of vehicles from the toll stop reaches back within 100 meters.

The NHIA said that a streak will be made with yellow color to detect a distance of 100 meters at all toll nacos. The move is meant to create another sense of accountability among the toll plaza operators.

100% cashless tolling done
According to the NHIA, it has successfully carried out 100 percent cashless tolling from mid-February 2021. The availability of Fastag on the toll points of NHAI has reached 96 per cent in total and 99 per cent in many of them.

He said, keeping in mind the increasing toll collection through electronic means in the country, emphasis will be laid on the size and construction of toll plots to keep the toll collection system efficient during the next 10 years.

NHAI said that social distance has become a new rule due to COVID-19. This is also being followed easily with the increasing use of FASTag, so that toll operators and vehicles do not come in contact with passengers.
