If you were an account holder of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India and you have an account even after the merger of these two with Punjab National Bank, then this news is very useful to you. After the merger of the two banks with Punjab National Bank, a lot is changing from April 1, 2021. For example, IFSC and MICR code will change from 1 April. It also has a user ID of the customers. You will have to follow the steps given below for changes in user ID due to merger.
To know the user ID first, you have to go to the bank’s website and login to know your user ID option. If the customers of Off Oriental Bank of Commerce (eOBC) and use net banking, then put O in front of the eight-digit user AD. If there are customers of eUNI, then put U in front of the eight-digit user AED. Customers whose user ID is 9 digits, do not need to make any changes. Apart from this, if you have some questions in mind, the answers are below.
Question: Do I need to submit my KYC documents once again?
Answer: If your KYC bank records are updated, then you do not need to resubmit any KYC documents.
Question: Will account details change (account number, IFSC, MICR, Debit Card etc.) What do i have to do? Do I have to close my account?
Answer: Existing account number, IFSC, MICR, debit card etc. in all three banks till further notification
Will continue with all its services.
Question: What will happen to my check book / passbook?
Answer: Checkbook / passbook will be valid till 31 March 2021.
