HRTC Employees News: There is good news for the drivers and conductors of Himachal Path Parivahan Nigam. Before the presentation of the budget, the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of the state has released a grant of Rs 10 crore for night allowance (night overtime) for its drivers and conductors. The corporation management has also deposited this amount in the bank accounts of the drivers and conductors.
The special thing is that the corporation has paid night allowance for the second time in March. Earlier, night allowance was released on March 5. Then an amount of Rs 5 crore was released to them, due to which the drivers and conductors were angry and they had threatened to go on strike. However, in a meeting of various organizations of Himachal Path Parivahan Nigam in Shimla, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri had announced that the amount of Rs 10 crore night overtime would be sent to the accounts of drivers and conductors by next week, which has now been released.
Promotion can also be given soon
It is reported that the corporation management held a meeting with the employees and assured them to fulfill their other demands as well. A separate meeting was held with the MD on several issues including promotion and regularization of employees. The management has also sent the file regarding promotion to the MD.
In this, some operators will be promoted to the post of Chief Inspector, Inspector and Sub Inspector. Apart from this, contract employees who complete two years of tenure on 31 March can also be regularized.
There is a plan to regularize other category employees in the corporation, piece meal workers and others who have completed the stipulated tenure, before 15 April. There is also a preparation to give the status of senior drivers to the drivers.
Assurance has been given on these demands too
Recently, various organisations of Himachal Path Parivahan Nigam held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri in Shimla. It was decided in the meeting that a committee will be formed to give pay scale to drivers and conductors on the lines of Punjab, which will submit its report in a month.
The state government will be informed about the suggestions of the committee. It is likely that after the pay scale is fixed on the lines of Punjab, the salary of about 4,000 conductors who were regularized after 2011 can increase up to Rs 5,000.
It was decided to make the seniority list of drivers online in six months. The drivers will be given the designation of senior drivers. 107 Peace Meal employees, who are working in the workshop, will be brought on contract in the month of April.
The Dhabas for eating will be properly identified and the leave sought by the drivers will be given to them. Weekly leave will also be given. The responsibility of the conductor is fixed and recovery is done from him, which will be stopped.
In long distance travel, the front seat will be reserved for the conductor only even during afternoon time and booking of the same will not be done for passengers. Assurance has also been given to open the promotion channel which is stuck for the vacant posts of Conductor to Sub-Inspector and Senior Sub-Inspector etc.
