What was the event
On August 16, 2016, 19 people died after consuming poisonous liquor at Khajurbani locality at Gopalganj, the district headquarters. Six people lost their eyesight. Methyl was found in alcohol

Seven people testified during trial
Special Public Prosecutor (Product) Ravi Bhushan Srivastava said that a total of seven witnesses were produced from the prosecution during the trial. On the basis of the evidence of all the witnesses, the court sentenced nine to death and four convicts to life imprisonment.

On the night of 15 August 2116, after drinking poisonous liquor in Khajurbani locality, suddenly the health of the people started deteriorating. By the morning of 16 August, some of them died.
