Birth Certificate Age Limit: In Haryana, the name of a child above 15 years of age can be added in the birth certificate. The Haryana government has relaxed the rules and given time till the end of this year. This will provide relief to thousands of families. Parents of 15 year old children will be able to get the name registered without any hassle. The process of getting the name registered in the blank column of the birth certificate has become very easy with the rules issued by the government. In this, the name can be registered by paying a nominal fee of maximum 30 rupees. Earlier, the name could be registered in the blank column of the birth certificate only from birth to 15 years.
Such students who had not got their names registered in the birth certificate were now facing problems. Birth certificate is such a certificate which is required everywhere. Today people are aware about birth certificate because it has been made mandatory for making Aadhar card of children, but it was not so earlier. Parents did not pay attention to this important document. But the government has made it mandatory. Not only the state government but also the name and age are verified through birth certificate in the application in the schemes of the central government or passport application etc.
The government was receiving complaints from many such parents. In view of which the Haryana government has provided this relief. There are hundreds of such children, whose name is still not registered in the birth certificate. Hisar Municipal Corporation Birth-Death Branch Registrar Rahul Saini said that to get the name of the child registered in the birth certificate, one could apply only till 15 years from birth. Now children above 15 years can get their name registered in the birth certificate till 31 December 2024.
