Black fungus occurs in the air
Mucharamikis is a fungal infection. It affects those whose immune system is weakened due to a disease or its treatment. This fungus is present in the air and infects such people.
Identify symptoms
Pain or redness around the eyes and nose
fever
Headache
cough
respiratory distress
Blood in vomit
Mental Confusion
They are more vulnerable
Those who have uncontrolled diabetes
Taking steroids
Have been in ICU for a long time
Some kind of transplant
Voriconazole therapy is taken (antifungal treatment)
How can we protect
If you go to a dusty construction site, then wear a mask.
Wear shoes, full pants-shirt and gloves while doing gardening or soil work.
Take care of personal hygiene. Take a good bath everyday.
Do not ignore these things
(if corona, diabetes and immuno-suppressant are on treatment)
The nose is jammed or black or bloody substance comes out of the nose.
There is pain in the cheekbone.
There should be blackness on the nose / palate.
Toothache, toothache, jaw problems.
Skin lesions, fever, pain or blurring, blood clot is frozen.
Chest pain, difficulty in breathing.
Keep these things in mind
Control the amount of glucose in the blood.
Diabetes patients should keep an eye on blood glucose after covid is cured.
Take steroids only on the advice of a doctor. Use them only at the right time, right dose and right time.
Use only clean and sterile water for oxygen therapy.
Antibiotics and antibiotics should be used wisely.
Do not make these mistakes
Do not ignore the symptoms of black fungus.
If the nose is blocked, do not think of it as sinusitis, especially if you are in high risk category.
Get KOH staining & microscopy, culture, MALDI-TOF checked on doctor’s advice.
Do not delay in treatment, be alert as soon as the first symptoms are seen.
How to handle the situation (under doctor’s supervision)
Diabetes and diabetes control ketoacidosis.
If the patient is taking steroids, reduce them gradually to stop them.
Discontinue immunomodulating drugs.
Do not take antifungal medicines beforehand.
Monitor with radio-imaging.
