Board Exams Postponed: Board exams scheduled for February 24 postponed, exam to be held on this date

Board Exam Postponed: The last round of bathing is going on in Maha Kumbh. Even after this, a flood of devotees has gathered. Due to excessive crowd and traffic management, the UP Board has postponed the high school and intermediate examination to be held on 24 February in Prayagraj. In all other districts except Prayagraj, the examinations of both the boards will be held as per the scheduled time table. Only in Prayagraj, the examinations of both the boards postponed for 24 February in both the shifts will be held on 9 March next month in both the shifts.

Minister of State for Secondary Education Gulab Devi gave this information to journalists on Friday. Late in the evening, on the recommendation of the Secondary Education Department, the government also issued an order in this regard. Earlier, Gulab Devi inaugurated the state level control room set up for monitoring the board examinations in the camp office of the Director of Secondary Education. During this, she said that this control room will monitor the high school and intermediate examinations starting from February 24 online. The Minister of State said that this year too, strict steps have been taken to ensure a cheating-free examination.

This year, a total of 8,140 examination centres have been set up in the state, which include 576 government, 3,446 non-government aided and 4,118 self-financed schools. Out of these, 306 examination centres have been declared as highly sensitive and 692 as sensitive. STF and local intelligence unit have been activated to completely curb unfair means in the examination.

To keep a close watch on the examination centres, CCTV cameras with two voice recorders, router, DVR and high-speed internet have been arranged in each examination room. Through this, live monitoring of the examination will be done through webcasting. To maintain the purity of the examination, centre-wise coding has been done in the question papers and special security measures have been added in the answer sheets.

A total of 54,37,233 candidates will appear for both the board exams

This year 27,32,216 students will appear in the high school examination and 27,05,017 students will appear in the intermediate examination. A total of 54,37,233 candidates will appear. 8,140 center administrators, 8,140 external center administrators, 8,140 static magistrates, 1,283 sector magistrates and 439 zonal magistrates have been deployed for conducting the examination in both the board examinations.

Apart from this, 428 mobile squads and 75 state level supervisors have also been appointed. Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act-2024 has been implemented to ensure transparency and fairness of the examination process. Under this Act, strict action will be taken against those who commit any kind of disturbance in the examination process.

To deal with emergency situations, additional reserve sets of question papers have also been kept ready, which have been kept in strong rooms with full security. Strict measures have also been taken to prevent the exchange of answer sheets at the examination centers.

Two toll free numbers have been issued to solve the problems

Toll-free helpline numbers-18001806607 and 18001806608 have been activated to solve the problems of students and parents during the examination period. The minister said that the state government is fully committed to the bright future of the youth. He called upon the students to appear in the examination with confidence without fear and stress and appealed to the teachers to cooperate in conducting the examination process fairly and smoothly.

Sanskrit Education Board exams will also be monitored online
The Minister of State for Secondary Education said that along with UP Board High School and Intermediate exams, Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Education Board exams will also be monitored from this control room. All necessary measures have been taken for this.

For the first time 16 officers have been made supervisors

Gulab Devi said that for the first time 16 senior officers have been posted as supervisors at the divisional level. They will independently monitor the exams in the area falling under their designated division.
