BPL Ration Card Latest Updates If you have a TV, fridge or bike and you are using BPL ration card, then action can be taken against you now. The government has asked TV, fridge or bike keepers to be ready to return the BPL Ration Card by March 31 or face action. The BS Yeddyurappa government of Karnataka has issued an order regarding this.
Food and Supplies Minister Umesh Katti told a press conference in Belagavi that there are some criteria for keeping BPL card for people below poverty line. They should not have more than five acres of land, more cycle, TV or freeze.
Food and Supplies Minister said that those who do not meet these criteria should return the Ration Card, otherwise action will be taken against them.
The minister said that those earning more than Rs 1.20 lakh annually should not use the BPL Card and it should be returned before 31 March.
The Congress criticized the minister’s statement and party workers demonstrated in front of various ration shops in Bangalore.
A Congress leader said that party workers also performed in Dharwad, Mysuru and Tumkuru.
Congress MLA TT Khader said that when an interest-free loan will be offered for these goods, it is natural that people will buy it.
He alleged that this decision of the government is anti-people and instead of snatching the BPL Card, the focus should be on identifying the beneficiaries. input language
