BSNL’s 5G service may be launched soon. The government telecom company may start its commercial trial soon. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has shared a video of making a video call through BSNL’s 5G network.
BSNL’s 5G service: There is not much delay in starting BSNL 5G service. The government telecom company is going to test 5G service across the country soon. While on one hand the company is launching its 4G service across the country, on the other hand, the company has also made preparations for 5G. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has shared a video of making a video call using BSNL’s 5G network. Earlier also, the government has allocated more than Rs 80 thousand crore for the government telecom company in the budget presented last month to revive BSNL.
Preparation to launch 5G
BSNL has been in the news ever since private telecom companies increased mobile tariffs. In the last one month, lakhs of users have ported their numbers to BSNL. The government telecom company is currently offering 2G and 4G services. However, the company has so far officially launched 4G service only in some telecom circles. Most of the BSNL users have complaints of network connectivity, due to which more than 85 percent of the users are using the network of a private telecom company.
Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has shared a video from his official X handle, in which he is seen making a video call. In this post, the Union Minister has talked about doing a BSNL 5G enabled call trial and has tagged BSNL. This trial of BSNL’s 5G service has been done in the C-DoT campus.

Offers received for trial
According to a report that came recently, proposals have been received from many companies to trial BSNL’s 5G service, including Tata Consultancy Service, Lekha Wireless, Suktha Consulting, Coral Telecom, Amantya Technologies, Velemani, W4S Labs, VVDN, Galore Networks, Bharat RN Consortium etc. However, no company has been offered to conduct the trial yet.
The trial of BSNL’s 5G service is being conducted in the campus of C-DoT, an agency of the Department of Telecommunications. The central government has allocated 700MHz, 2200MHz, 3300MHz and 26GHz spectrum bands to BSNL to start 5G service. Currently, BSNL is trialing 5G service on 700MHz spectrum band.
