Income Tax refund: CBDT tweeted that between April 1, 2021 and August 16, 2021, it has issued a refund of Rs 49696 crore to 22.75 lakh taxpayers.
Income Tax refund: The Income Tax Department said that till August 16 in the current financial year, it has issued a refund of 49 thousand 696 crores to the taxpayers. Income Tax Department has issued refund of 14 thousand 608 crore in 21 lakh 50 thousand 668 individual cases. At the same time, refunds of 35 thousand 88 crores have been issued in 1 lakh 24 thousand 732 corporate cases. This amount has been sent to the account of the taxpayer. You can check the status to find out whether the money has arrived in your account or not.
CBDT issues refunds of over Rs. 49,696 crore to more than 22.75 lakh taxpayers between 1st April, 2021 to 16th August, 2021. Income tax refunds of Rs. 14,608 crore have been issued in 21,50,668 cases & corporate tax refunds of Rs. 35,088 crore have been issued in 1,24,732 cases.

Money will not come if ITR is not verified
If your ITR has not been verified in the profile, then send a request for re-verification with the help of your Aadhaar or send the signed ITR-V form by speed post to the Income Tax CPC office. Until this process is not completed, the refund amount will not be credited to your account. Taxpayers can request the department to expedite ITR processing by filing a complaint petition to the CPC or the Assessing Officer.
