CBSE has warned class 12th students and has strictly instructed them not to take admission in any dummy school or else they will not be allowed to appear in the board exams.
CBSE Board Exam: There is very important news for class 12th students. CBSE i.e. Central Board of Education has clearly given the message that now those students who take admission in dummy schools should be careful because if it is found in the investigation that they have taken admission in dummy schools, then they will not be given a chance to sit in the board exam.
Students and parents will be responsible for this
An official of the CBSE board said that the students and parents themselves will be responsible for the ill-effects of admission in ‘dummy schools’. CBSE is considering changing the rules of the exam as part of the ongoing action against ‘dummy schools’, so that such students can be prevented from appearing in the board exams.
Students were warned
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has warned the students who take admission in ‘dummy schools’ and said that those students who will not attend regular classes will not be allowed to sit in the 12th board exam. A board official said that the students and their parents will have to bear the brunt of the consequences of admission in ‘dummy schools’. They will have to appear for the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) exam instead of the CBSE board exam.
Will not be allowed to appear in board exams
A senior board official said, “If any examinee is found missing from the school or is absent during the surprise inspection conducted by the board, such candidates will not be allowed to appear in the board examination. The concerned student and his/her parents will be responsible for the consequences of not attending classes regularly.”
Implemented from this session
The official said that action will be taken against schools promoting ‘dummy’ culture or promoting absent students as per the board’s affiliation and exam rules. The issue was also raised in the recent Governing Board meeting of the board, where it was recommended that this decision be implemented from the academic session 2025-2026.
Attendance should be this much percent
The official said, “The matter was discussed in detail in the examination committee and it was concluded that as per the rules of the board, a minimum of 75 percent attendance of students is mandatory to appear in board examinations.” He said that if the required attendance is not met, then such students cannot be entitled to appear in CBSE examination just by taking admission in a non-attendance school.
Such students will be able to give these exams
The official said, “If a student is not allowed by CBSE, then he can go to NIOS to appear in the examination. It was further said that the board gives 25 percent relaxation only in cases like medical emergency condition, participation in national or international sports events and other serious reasons.”
According to the official, the board is considering that the board will not consider the candidature of those students whose attendance is not 75 percent and disciplinary action can also be taken against the school registering such students for the examination.
