According to media reports, CBSE is currently working on the structure of the academic calendar to accommodate an additional set of board examinations without disrupting the undergraduate admission schedule. Let us tell you that all these changes are being made under the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020).

Last year, the Central Government has announced many changes in the education system in accordance with the new National Education Policy. This includes developing textbooks for the academic session in 2024 and incorporating the new curriculum framework. This new curriculum structure also includes conducting board examinations twice a year. Last year, during a program in Chhattisgarh, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had given his approval to conduct board examinations twice a year from next year. Dharmendra Pradhan had said that from the academic session 2025-26, students will get a chance to appear in the board examinations twice a year.
